Every year, the 31st January is National Hot Chocolate Day and who are we to argue with that! The end of January is the perfect time for hot drinks, cosy blankets on the sofa and warm fires; preferably, we think, with a dog by your feet. Spring still feels like it's a little bit too far away, which means there are plenty of evenings left for closing the curtains, lighting a lavender candle and sipping a hot chocolate. Have you tried a one made using our lavender chocolate bar?
It is so easy to make but so relaxing and comforting. I think it is the perfect way to relieve the stresses of the day.
Now, you can make this with just two ingredients, Cotswold Lavender Chocolate and milk. We have a fabulous dairy just a couple of miles away near Broadway,
so I love to make mine with their deliciously creamy organic Jersey milk. But, if you want to indulge in an even more decadent hot chocolate, then you can of course add whipped cream, marshmallows and sprinkle shavings of lavender chocolate on the top.
Lavender Hot Chocolate Recipe
- 1 bar Cotswold Lavender chocolate
- 250 - 300ml Milk
- Whipped Cream (optional)
- Marshmallows (optional)
For each drink, take 6 squares of lavender chocolate and grate into a small saucepan. You can just break the squares into small pieces but I find it melts better when grated. Add 250 to 300 ml of milk and stir while heating. Once melted and warmed to the desired temperature pour into a mug and if you are having the optional extras top with whipped cream, marshmallows and some grated lavender chocolate. Enjoy!!
